Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I in the Administrative Services Unit (ASU), the Associate Director and the Director of the Special Education Division (SED), and working cooperatively with program units and supervisors throughout the California Department of Education (CDE), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst independently provides budgets staff support.
Independently manage internal and external budgeting for the Division; analyze expenditures to ensure items are appropriate and over expenditure of funding does not occur; monitor monthly budget reports, and subvention reports.
Independently tracks the Federal and State Budget related to special education; ensure Federal and State funds are appropriately allocated; prepare reports based on the CDE’s Fiscal and Administrative Services Division and Department of Finance Drills.
Independently prepares SED budget change proposals, budget revisions, finance letters, and other budget documents and administrative cost reports; identify and resolve fiscal discrepancies with the administrative cost reports and subvention reports; prepare the annual state maintenance of financial support; prepare and analyze monthly budget projections; and prepare, review, and edit reports as required of the Division.
