College Savings Program Coordinator
The State Treasurer's Office promotes a culture that is a fast-paced environment that supports high performance, exceptional work product, accountability and collaboration. The College Savings Program Coordinator will assist with the administration and program management of South Carolina's 529 College Savings Plan, and the South Carolina Tuition Pre-Payment program (SCTPP).
Provides administrative support to the College Savings Programs and other consumer-facing programs at the State Treasurer's Office.
Coordinates and participates in activities to raise awareness and foster growth of the College Savings Plan. Promotes the program through various means of marketing, outreach and public education.
Acts as initial point of contact and utilizes a solutions-driven approach to problem solving for escalated customer service issues related to the College Savings Programs.
Oversees the Future Scholar Financial Literacy Program to include monitoring service provider activities, compiling reports, coordinating the Educator of the Month and providing other support for the program as needed. The successful candidate must be high energy and proficient in managing multiple priorities while delivering quality work.
Monitors activities of the field marketing staff and maintains the calendar of events for the College Savings Programs.
Provides administrative support for the Palmetto Baby Grant program and other marketing initiatives.
Collaborates with program manager, service providers and internal staff to ensure content on the Future Scholar website is updated timely. Maintains positive working relationships with both internal staff as well as external service providers.
Documents internal procedures related to the administration of the College Savings Program and updates as necessary.
Assists with the coordination of the Quarterly Investment Meetings as well as other meetings, investment reviews and reporting between STO, service providers and outside consultants.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, communications, political science, finance, accounting or a related field and at least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in program management or administration.
Candidates must specifically meet the Agency Minimum Requirements or an equivalent combination of education and experience to be considered for this position.
Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with agency personnel, agency management, service providers and the general public. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and be able to work with interruptions and shift priorities quickly. Must be able to adapt to an active and dynamic work environment with an ability to tolerate moderate background noise in an open and collaborative working area. Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Must excel in presenting the program's message to large groups.
Must be able to safely lift and carry files, books and reports weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for intermittent periods of time. Must be able to reach, bend, and twist at the waist to perform filing, desk work and operate general office equipment.
