Media and Communications Specialist
The Media and Communications Specialist function is to effectively communicate, design, photograph, video, publish and distribute Association content, programs, products and services to the end user, including, when appropriate, the public. In addition to driving member participation, satisfaction and sales, a primary purpose of the Association’s marketing communications program is to positively impact the Association’s image, reputation and/or influence within the REALTOR® and Greater Fort Myers community.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE(Other duties may be assigned):
Media content development, production, and copy-writing for print/digital marketing activities for all Association programs, products and/PR services, including each Association activity and the Association member experience.
Develops, creates, deploys media content across all digital outlets including the Association website, social media platforms, and e-marketing communications efforts.
Participate with Director in deciding the most effective mediums to communicate the Association’s message to advocate the member’s best interest.
Implements the Association’s marketing/communication per MarComm strategies and plans.
Projects include: Creative writing, script writing, and development of interview questions for on-and-off camera interviews, magazine articles, blog posts, e-marketing communications efforts, graphic design, photography, video for advertising, flyers, brochures, web and email graphics, reports, etc. per Association’s branding, style, tone, and marketing message.
Edit and proofread a variety of content types to ensure it meets the Association’s branding, style, tone, and marketing messages.
Produce written content, design flyers and other web and print related-graphics.
Manage day-to-day content uploading in a variety of content management systems.
Develop, create and deploy content across all digital outlets for the website, social media, blog posts, email marketing and more.
Edit and proofread a variety of content types for all content ensuring it meets style, tone and marketing message requirements, as well as reflecting the Royal Palm Coast Realtor Association brand.
Monitor and promote the ongoing and new events of the real estate industry on the national, regional and local levels.
Understanding a “big picture” comprehensive of the operational and political issues of the real estate industry at a national, regional and local levels.
Evaluates effective communications platforms and conducts surveys.
Manages and updates Association’s visual and text based content libraries.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS/BA in journalism, public relations, media studies, graphic design or relevant field. 2-4 years’ experience in related field aplus.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Adobe cloud products, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
Must be able to use Outlook email, mass email distribution apps, ie; Constant Contact, and utilize internet-based apps and other platforms, such as Blogging. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro 10 and Motion graphics knowledge a plus.
Working knowledge of content publishing and management tools, DSLR and camcorder cameras and audio.
Strong working knowledge of social networking tools, e.g. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.
Ability to take semi-professional photographs and Video
Adept at using complex content management and publishing software and tracking large amounts of information and offers a proven blend of editorial skills (copy writing, social media best practices) graphic design skills and technical know-how.
Strong understanding of web production and deployment principles/best practices.
Ability to edit, crop, color-correct graphic images in Photoshop.
Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Experience working with scheduling databases or project management software a plus.
Must possess excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills.
Proven track record of success producing digital content.
Familiarity with a variety of online marketing concepts, best practices and procedures.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
